The Pittsburgh Steelers have a pivotal matchup against the New England Patriots in Week 15 that will have a major impact on the top of the AFC playoff picture.

With that in mind, former Pro Bowl cornerback Joe Haden appears to be in line to make his return a month after fracturing his _ fibula.

According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Steelers defensive coordinator Keith Butler further supported that notion with his encouraging comments about Haden after Thursday's practice.

Yet, Haden's official status is still yet to be determined.

The 28-year-old made his return to practice earlier this week with eyes toward getting back on the field on Sunday. It sounds like he is holding up quite well physically through the first couple of days back participating in team-oriented activities.

Haden missed the last four games due to the injury that he suffered in Pittsburgh's 20-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts on November 12th. In his absence, Coty Sensabaugh has handled much of the starting duties while rookie Cameron Sutton has helped fill part of that void as well.

If Haden is unable to give it a go against the Patriots, expect the Steelers to continue to turn to Sensabaugh and Sutton to play a major role in the secondary once again. Ultimately, his status for the contest will be determined by how his body holds up through another practice on Friday.
