The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to host the Cleveland Browns in a rematch of this heated AFC North matchup. Unfortunately, it appears they will be severely shorthanded on offense.

According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and running back James Conner have been ruled out versus the Browns in Week 13.

Steelers have ruled out WR JuJu Smith-Schuster and RB James Conner is doubtful.

The absence of both Smith-Schuster and Conner undoubtedly deals a crushing blow to Pittsburgh's offense. It seems the onus will fall on quarterback Devlin Hodges to help this group get their revenge against Cleveland following their embarrassing loss on primetime in Week 11.

It is no secret that Smith-Schuster is in the midst of an underwhelming 2019 NFL season. He has struggled to prove himself as a bonafide No. 1 option in the passing game following the departure of wide receiver Antonio Brown. Of course, the changes under center have not helped his case and it seems the knee injury will keep him from sparking a resurgence against Cleveland.

Meanwhile, the Steelers were holding out hope for Conner's potential return from a lingering shoulder injury. He was able to log in some practice this week after missing three of the last four games, however, it appears he will need at least another week before considering a comeback.

As a result, Hodges will have to make do with the weapons at his disposal while running back Benny Snell Jr. continues to serve as the workhorse in the run game while Conner is sidelined.
