Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster has established himself as one of the most promising, young players in the NFL. It appears his star power has now reached overseas.

Smith-Schuster was among the notable players on hand to help launch the NFL Academy in London. According to Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, he was surprised to see how many fans recognized him:

“I was surprised to know how many people know me,” Smith-Schuster said. “People come up to me and show love. They’re like, ‘You’re actually here.’ That’s happened like four, five, six times since I’ve been here.”

Smith-Schuster has become quite the household name in recent years. His talent on the football field is supplemented by his presence on social media, which has clearly helped him become one of the more recognizable faces in the NFL. It appears the former L.A. native is still not used to all the attention he has garnered as of late.

It is safe to say that it is only a matter of time before Smith-Schuster is no longer taken back by his international popularity. He plays for one of the biggest brands in American sports with the Steelers being one of the NFL's historic franchises. The 22-year-old was able to make a name for himself despite playing in the shadow of wide receiver Antonio Brown. With Brown out of town, Smith-Schuster is poised for an even bigger role on offense.

It will be interesting to see how much his profile continues to expand moving forward.
