Pittsburgh Steelers star JuJu Smith-Schuster will once again have an early vacation after they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in their Wild Card contest on Sunday night.

Smith-Schuster wasn't even supposed to play after suffering what many believed was a season-ending shoulder injury. But he was placed on the active list against the Chiefs and tallied five receptions and 26 yards. Clearly, he was playing below his usual level, but he wanted to be on the field to help the Steelers keep their season alive.

Now that their campaign is over, Smith-Schuster will face a difficult decision as a free agent. It's worth noting that he only signed a one-year deal last season and had an injury-riddled campaign. When asked about staying with the Steelers, the talented wide receiver was pretty honest (via Steelers reporter Dejan Kovacevic).

“Honestly, it would be a blessing, I love the city, I love the fans, I love coach (Mike) Tomlin, I love the coaches, my teammates, players, everyone, the media side to the training room. It's been unbelievable. My career here has been amazing, it would be nice to stay here and play with these guys again, the same coaches and everyone.”

The 25-year-old WR, who only played five games this season, will still be an asset for the Steelers if he remains healthy. Plus, with the looming exit of legendary quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, the team will need a new leader, and Smith-Schuster could fill that role.
