On Tuesday, a report surfaced that star running back Le'Veon Bell of the Pittsburgh Steelers was finally ready to return to the team. The report claimed Bell had been telling his teammates he'll make his return on Labor Day, but it appears the perennial Pro Bowler did no such thing.

Apparently, Bell caught wind of the talk of his impending return to the team and wasn't happy about it. The Steelers star took to Twitter to put an end to the rumors claiming he hasn't said anything to anyone about his when he'll report.

With Bell dispelling the rumors of his return and giving no indication as to when he'll be back with the Steelers, the waiting continues for the AFC heavyweights as they hope to get their elite offensive weapon back sooner rather than later. The clock keeps ticking as the team prepares for the start of the 2018 NFL season without one of their best players coming out of the backfield.

In the meantime, the Steelers will focus on their preseason finale on Thursday when they host Cam Newton's Carolina Panthers. The starters traditionally sit out the final game as the team evaluates the roster in preparation to cut it down to the maximum of 53 players.

After the team makes the needed cuts, the focus shifts to Week 1 when Ben Roethlisberger and company will go on the road to face the division rival Cleveland Browns. Whether Bell will be in shape and ready to take the field remains to be seen.
