Thou shall not hurt the goalpost. In case Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell didn’t know that the NFL reminded him it’s illegal by levying a hefty fine on the former Michigan State Spartan.

Bell was required to pay $12,154 by the league’s office according to Josh Alpert of Pro Football Talk after celebrating a touchdown in last Sunday’s 19-13 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Following a short three-yard rushing score, Bell went straight to the goalpost and took swings at it as though he’s a boxer preparing for a bout. The NFL made a change on its rules in the offseason to become more lenient on touchdown celebrations, but there are still limits of course, and apparently, pretending like Rocky in a meat packing plant is a big no-no, as Bell discovered himself.

Bell isn’t the only Steeler to have his pockets shaken down this week by the NFL. Safety Mike Mitchell issued a huge fine of $48,620 for a late hit on Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith in Week 6. Apart from that, the league also meted out a $24,309 fine as a penalty for roughing Smith.

The Steelers eyes winning their second game in a row this coming Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
