In the Pittsburgh Steelers' 21-18 season opening win over the Cleveland Browns, Pro Bowl running back Le'Veon Bell had a noticeably light workload, rushing for just 32 yards on 10 carries along with three catches for 15 yards.

That is significantly below the production level that has come to be expected from Bell. In response to his outing, the 25-year old Michigan State product told Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that he's merely playing in the role that he's given.

“Of course, I want to be out there every play. I’m just executing the game plan and doing what I’m told,” Bell said. “However they plan to use me, I’ll be available. I’ll make sure I go out there and put everything on the line when I’m in the game, and do the best that I can.”

Although Bell was on the field for just 43 of Pittsburgh's 60 total offensive snaps against the Browns, that number should see a large increase in Week 2. Keep in mind, he had just returned to practicing with the team a few days prior to the season opener after ending his holdout.

There is no reason to believe that Bell won't receive more touches moving forward given his significant role in the offense as one of the primary contributors over the years. He has established himself as one of the premier running backs in the league over his first four seasons, rushing for more than 1,200 rushing yards and recording at least 75 catches with 600 receiving yards in a single campaign twice over that span.

It's just a matter of time before Bell resumes his large workload in the Steelers' offense, satisfying fans as well as fantasy owners.
