Some of Le’Veon Bell’s Pittsburgh Steelers teammates aired out their growing frustration with his continued absence with the regular season set to begin. Offensive linemen Ramon Foster, David DeCastro, and Maurkice Pouncey all took shots at the All-Pro running back with their comments on Wednesday.

Obviously, Bell has already seen those critical comments from his teammates. In fact, he even commented on a particular quote from center Maurkice Pouncey which Bleacher Report posted on their Instagram page.

Bell has mostly kept silent throughout this on-going holdout, with his agent, Adisa Bakari, doing the talking for him in public. But with the severity of his teammates’ criticism, he couldn’t help but react at least once.

It’s understandable to see where Bell’s teammates are coming from with their frustration. Not knowing when (or even if) one of the team’s best players will return while they work hard to prepare for the start of the season has to be an annoying feeling.

It would probably help if Bell could maintain some better communication with his teammates so that they won’t feel as if they’re being left out to dry. He could very well be compelled do that following his teammates’ recent outbursts.

Either way, it’s clear that this whole holdout saga is getting messy fairly quickly, and Bell and his camp will have some important decisions to make about how to handle it moving forward. If Bell follows through on his apparent plan to sit out several regular-season games as his agent has been hinting, he risks alienating his teammates a lot more than they already are.
