The Pittsburgh Steelers have continued to wait in a holding pattern as star running back Le'Veon Bell decides whether to make his return to the team on Tuesday afternoon in order to play this season.

However, Bell has decided to drop some more subtle hints as he decided to vote for second-year running back James Conner for this year's Pro Bowl, according to Andrew Siciliano of The NFL Network.

The fact that Bell decided to post that now may give off some of the notion that he may have decided to not return by indirect giving the reins over to Conner as the future in the backfield for Pittsburgh. Nonetheless, the former Pittsburgh product has more than proven that he can be a productive option out of the backfield as he has put numbers that would suggest he is one of the top running backs in the league.

Conner is currently ranked third in the league with 771 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns along with 39 receptions for 387 receiving yards and a touchdown. He has already set numerous franchise records along the way such as being the first player in team history with at least 1,000 yards from scrimmage and 10 total touchdowns in the first eight games of a season. His 10 rushing touchdowns in the first eight games played are the most in franchise history through that span of games to begin a campaign.

He is also tied for first in the league with five games with 100 rushing yards and four games with at least two rushing touchdowns. Conner has demonstrated to be everything and more than the Steelers had hoped for in Bell's absence. If he continues to produce at the level he has, there is no doubt that he will be a lock for his first Pro Bowl selection if not already.
