The recent news of Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell ultimately deciding not to report to the team this season has been the talk of the NFL lately. Now that Bell has decided to forego this season without pay and presumably hit NFL free agency next season his belongings are left in his locker.

It sounds like Bell's teammates are making light of the situation despite it being the main headline of the Steelers' season thus far. As stated in previous news, “there's no ill will, rather more of a playful jab.”

At the beginning of the season, many Steelers players didn't hold back regarding the situation of Bell's holdout. However, as the season carried on without Bell, so did his teammates. The Steelers have won five straight games, and it appears that they are just fine without their former All-Pro running back. Now that the decision has been made, the Steelers can move on without Bell distracting the team any further.

Bell is eligible to be under the transition tag next season, or he can test the free agent market. The emergence of James Conner likely points in the direction of Bell departing from the Steelers. Conner has statistically performed better than Bell's spectacular season in 2018 and seems to get better each week.

Bell has stated time and time again that he wants to be a Steeler for life, but his recent decision making has suggested otherwise. Bell's talent is undeniable, and he has always been a top-tier running back, but right now his main focus is his long-term health and success.
