With the NFL Hall of Fame game set to feature a Cowboys-Steelers tilt, it's time to do some remembering. Pittsburgh Steelers backup Mason Rudolph was tabbed the team's starter for a Week 17 showdown with the Cleveland Browns. Everyone remembers that, as well as there being quite a bit of history between Rudolph and one Browns player named Myles Garrett.

Rudolph and Myles Garrett were involved in an infamous brawl, which reached a boiling point when Garrett swung Rudolph's own helmet at his head. Garrett was suspended indefinitely, and the two had more back-and-forth after Garrett accused Rudolph of using racial slurs.

Despite past happenings, however, the Steelers quarterback said he actually has a lot of “respect” for Garrett. The former Oklahoma State star added the two have not made direct contact, but he is more focused on the game itself:

“He has not reached out to me in any capacity, but I have a lot of respect for Myles,” Steelers QB Mason Rudolph said, via ESPN's Kimberley A. Martin. “Outside of that, this game’s too big to worry about anything external that happened years ago.”

Neither Rudolph nor Myles Garrett have had much interest in addressing the incident. The same goes for Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, as well as Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski.

Anyway, with the Cowboys-Steelers set to face each other in the first 2021 NFL preseason game — the Hall of Fame game — Mason Rudolph is likely to see some snaps; though a newcomer is expected to get more.
