The Pittsburgh Steelers have boasted one of the best offensive lines in the NFL for the past couple of seasons. With the departure of Marcus Gilbert, that likely leaves the job for Matt Feiler—or does it?

In an article for the Steelers' official site by Mike Prisuta, Fieler said himself that he thinks the starting RT job is “up for grabs.” In the NFL, you can never get too comfortable; at any moment, someone could be taking your place on the roster.

“I’m not by any means the starter,” Feiler insisted this spring. “Anytime you’re out here, you’re getting pushed by the younger guys.”

Last season, the Steelers saw Gilbert get injured and miss 11 games in the regular season. As he went down, Feiler stepped in and started in 10 of those games. Feiler played decently down the stretch but will need to earn the starting spot during training camp.

Feiler isn't a young guy at 27 years old, but he still has room to grow as an offensive lineman. During the mandatory minicamps and OTAs, Feiler rotated with Chukwuma Okorafor at right tackle. However, Feiler was given the majority of the first-team reps.

Okorafor was taken by the Steelers in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Feiler has the edge on him in terms of experience, but that doesn't mean he is locked in at the position. Feiler knows that more than anybody.

Undoubtedly, Mike Tomlin is going to make Feiler earn the starting job at right tackle. Hopefully, the offensive line can continue to improve without Mike Munchak, the position coach who was vital to the Steelers' recent success on the offensive line.
