The Pittsburgh Steelers will be going into the 2019 season without Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell in their offense. Despite those crucial losses, a certain NFL analyst believes that the Steelers will be better in 2019.

Former Steelers running back Merril Hoge believes Pittsburgh will be a better team in 2019. Hoge points to the improved locker room as a reason why he believes the Steelers can make a run in the upcoming season.

“I think the key work here is team. Teams win championships,” Hoge recently told Eric F. Epler of PennLive.com. “Quarterbacks don’t win championships, defenses don’t and offenses don’t. They have a lot of weapons there and they feel more like a team now. I like their odds better this year than I did last year.”

“There was a time when we had three players on drug suspension, which was more players than any team in football,” he said. “But, when you talk about a player’s behavior and you blame an organization or league, that’s irresponsible. Players are responsible for their actions.”

Of course, last year, the Steelers had the Bell situation where the dual-threat back sat out the entire season due to not wanting to sign the franchise tag again. Bell became an unrestricted free agent this offseason and took his talents to the New York Jets.

As for Brown, the All-Pro wide receiver got into an altercation with Ben Roethlisberger during a practice in Week 17. Brown would bench himself in the last game of the season against the Cincinnati Bengals.

After season's end, Brown requested a trade and was sent to the Oakland Raiders. Now, the Steelers are hoping to have addition in subtraction in 2019 to make another Super Bowl run with Roethlisberger under center.
