Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been taken a lot of heat for his questionable leadership skills this offseason, a discussion that has reached a boiling point after the Steelers traded away disgruntled wide receiver Antonio Brown. However, Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin doesn't think there is anything wrong with Roethlisberger's ability to lead:

“I have no problem with his play or his leadership,” Tomlin told reporters Tuesday at the NFL Coaches Breakfast during the Annual League Meeting, according to Herbie Teope of NFL.com.

Roethlisberger's tendency to call out teammates during his weekly radio show has rubbed many the wrong way, including Brown, whose relationship with Roethlisberger soured to the point where he asked out of Pittsburgh and was ultimately dealt to the Oakland Raiders earlier this month.

Brown's situation with the Steelers became irreparable in the week leading up to the season finale when Brown got into a heated dispute with Roethlisberger, which apparently ended in Brown throwing a football at the quarterback.

The 30-year-old then refused to practice, complained of knee pain but refused to go for an MRI and then went AWOL on the team before consequently being benched by Tomlin for Pittsburgh's Week 17 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Of course, Brown has his own set of issues that are certainly not Roethlisberger's fault, but Brown's shaky relationship with the veteran signal-caller definitely did not help matters.

Tomlin is not the only member of the Steelers to defend Big Ben, though.

Wide out JuJu Smith-Schuster recently took to Twitter to praise Roethlisberger's leadership abilities, adding that he cannot wait to start the season with the 37-year-old.
