Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin does not wish to dwell on last year's infamous helmet-swinging incident between backup quarterback Mason Rudolph and Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett.

The Steelers and Browns will go to war in Week 17, and Rudolph will be starting under center for Pittsburgh in place of Ben Roethlisberger.

Naturally, both Tomlin, as well as Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, were asked about last year in light of Rudolph getting the starting nod.

Tomlin said he would not address it:

“I will not,’' Tomlin said, via Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com. “I won’t address it. There will be no need for that.’'

The longtime Steelers head coach also suggested the team does not even think about what happened last year:

“That’s so far in our rearview mirror we can’t see it,’' Tomlin said, via Kay Cabot.

Garrett and Rudolph were the talk of the NFL when the two came together in a dangerous confrontation during Week 12 of the 2019 season.

Rudolph had taken exception to the way in which Garrett brought him down on a play in the fourth quarter. He clawed at Garrett's head and grabbed his jersey, prompting Garrett to retaliate by removing Rudolph's helmet and swinging it at him.

The NFL suspended Garrett indefinitely. Garrett accepted the suspension, though he claimed Rudolph uttered racial slurs in his direction. Rudolph denied that accusation.

Garrett said he would not seek out Rudolph when the two teams first met in Week 6 of this season, but the two will have little choice Sunday.

Regardless, neither team wishes to address what happened last season.
