The Pittsburgh Steelers fell into a big hole over the weekend, when their 24-20 loss to the San Francisco 49ers dropped them to an 0-3 start for the season. With quarterback Ben Roethlisberger out all season with an elbow injury, the Steelers now face an uphill battle to get back into the playoff race. According to head coach Mike Tomlin, though, the team is ready.

During the post-game conference after the loss (via Steelers Wire), Tomlin was asked just how a team can come back from a loss like the one the Steelers suffered on Sunday. According to Tomlin, the answer is simply that the team “won’t blink.” While that answer may not sit well with some Steelers fans, it’s a motto that Tomlin has adopted for some time, and one that the team will likely keep throughout the year.

Unfortunately for the Steelers, it might also be time to blink, or at the very least, begin to address some issues. The team is now 0-3, and without their franchise quarterback taking another snap all year, many have already written off the team as done for the year.

However, quarterback Mason Rudolph has performed well enough to think that perhaps if the Steelers can string together some wins, they can at least be competitive.

Up next for the Steelers is a big game, as they'll take on their AFC North rival Cincinnati Bengals, who are also 0-3 to start the year. Cincinnati Bengals. Despite both teams being winless, the AFC North is surprisingly still up for grabs, as the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens have only managed to build a 1-2 game lead on their rivals so far.

With a long way to go until the season ends, it might be best for the Steelers to begin looking for ways to fix things without blinking.
