If you were to ask ten Pittsburgh Steelers fans about what the highlight of their football season is, nine out of ten of them will probably say JuJu Smith-Schuster. The young wide receiver has become a vital component of the Steelers and will become an irreplaceable part of their offense. Head coach Mike Tomlin is more than aware of that fact.

However, he sees more than the statistics when it comes to his young wideout. He shared that he likes what he sees from the wideout in a perspective that isn't necessarily noted in the stat sheet.

“How he has done and (has done) relative to statistics are probably two different things,” Tomlin said Tuesday at his weekly press conference, per Trib Live's Joe Rutter.

He was quick to list off the things he's been impressed with, and it's quite a list of things Smith-Schuster is doing right.

“I have no issues with how he has handled himself in some of those matchups,” Tomlin said. “Statistics might not tell the story because of a lot of things going on around him. I like his work. I like his professionalism. I like how he wins his one-on-ones. Hopefully, it’s a catalyst for us getting more traction and consistently moving the ball offensively.”

Smith-Schuster is having a solid season, catching for 459 yards and three touchdowns after playing through eight games of football. They have a difficult test coming up against the Los Angeles Rams as they're one of the better defensive teams in the NFL.

However, he should be able to easily get his yards if he is as elite as Mike Tomlin is making him seem like.
