Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin wouldn't be shocked if there were some changes to the coaching staff heading into the 2020 season. Tomlin started exit interviews with his players on Tuesday, and once he has gone through everyone on the team, he will move to the assistant coaches.

One guy who could be on his way out is wide receivers coach Ray Sherman.  He stepped in to be the interim wide receivers coach after the shocking death of Darryl Drake in August. Sherman hasn't indicated one way or the other, but he could go back into retirement.

“I understand change is part of the business,” Tomlin said via Joe Rutter of Triblive.com. “I wouldn’t be shocked if there is some movement and changes. That’s just part of this business, particularly in 2019.”

After the 2018 season when the Steelers missed the playoffs Tomlin made a lot of changes to his staff. Running backs coach James Saxon and outside linebackers coach Joey Porter were not brought back. Offensive line coach Mike Munchak also moved onto the Denver Broncos.

One of the other big coaching changes could be the team adding a quarterback coach. Back in 2018 when the Steelers promoted Randy Fichtner to offensive coordinator they didn't fill the open quarterback coach position. Fichtner has filled both roles but especially with the young quarterbacks on the Steelers, it would make a lot of sense for the team to have one coach dedicated to the role.

Tomlin will probably make these decisions pretty quickly so expect announcements in the next couple of weeks.
