Earlier this week, Pete Prisco of CBS Sports shared his top 100 players list in the NFL and there was a noticeable omission of the Pittsburgh Steelers' Minkah Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick, who is coming off of an All-Pro season, said that he'll use the top-100 snub as motivation.

Following his response to Prisco, Fitzpatrick spoke to Bryant McFadden — a former Steelers cornerback — on CBS Sports about being absent from the rankings:

“Usually I don't pay attention to the media, because a lot of it is just opinion,” the former Miami Dolphins standout told McFadden. “Honestly, I laughed at it. It's whatever. He thinks he's right … and then I was trying to get myself fired up before a workout, so I kept watching the video … I really shouldn't have (responded), but it got me fired up. It worked.”

The former first-round pick typically keeps to himself and doesn't allow the outside noise to bother him. However, Prisco's rankings seem to have struck a nerve with Fitzpatrick. So much so, that Fitzpatrick plans on using it as motivation in the upcoming season.

“Sometimes it's beneficial just to use it as motivation,” he said. “It's not beneficial to be looking at it all the time, but in Alabama, we would put quotes from the other team in our lockers, what they said about us, how they would beat us, and it worked.”

In his first season with the Steelers, Fitzpatrick notched nine pass breakups, five interceptions, and two fumble recoveries. Not long ago, Fitzpatrick revealed that he has lofty goals for next season. Now, with some added motivation, Fitzpatrick's goals just became even loftier.
