The Pittsburgh Steelers began their first day of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. At the first session, Najee Harris was asked about his weight, which has been the focal point of many offseason reports and rumors.

Pittsburgh reporter Josh Rowntree shared a clip of Harris addressing the reports and shutting them down Tuesday morning.

“I was 242 last year, and now I'm 244. But, if you guys didn't know, you always are heavier in this than you play in the season. I'm going to play at 242…Y'all making it seem like I'm just fat as hell,” Harris said, laughing.

Concern surrounding Harris' weight began when he was reported to be 244 lbs this offseason, after being listed as 232 lbs last season. The 12-pound difference sparked a lot of questions regarding the Steeler's running back's productivity this coming season.

However, Harris shut down the “cornballs” of the media, tweeting that he was 240 lbs last year. He noted that the last time he weighed 232 lbs was in Alabama's 2021 Rose Bowl win over Notre Dame. The running back had 15 carries for 125 yards to seal the win.

If Harris is around the physical peak that he was in his rookie season, he should have no problem dominating in his second year. Last season, Harris was the fourth most productive running back in the NFL. He recorded 1,200 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns, along with 467 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns.
