The Pittsburgh Steelers are securing the services of kicker Chris Boswell at least for the foreseeable future. According to a report by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the organization has signed Boswell to a four-year extension worth close to $20 million, making the kicker one of the best-paid players in his position.

The Steelers have also released this photo of a happy Boswell signing his extremely lucrative deal.

In case you’re wondering why the caption in the photo says “5 more years,” it’s because the latest contract that Boswell inked won’t kick in until the end of the 2018 season. Back in March, he signed a one-year deal with the team, worth $2.91 million.

Chris Boswell is coming off a fantastic 2017 season in which he made 92.1 percent of his field goal attempts and converted on 37 of his 39 extra-point kicks for a 94.9 percent success rate. Apart from his accuracy, he also displayed his elite leg strength by drilling all four of his attempts last year from 50 or more yards away from the uprights. His overall performance led him to a Pro Bowl appearance, his first in his career.

Perhaps even more important to the Steelers is Boswell’s ability to make field goals in the clutch. Last season, he connected on four game-winning attempts.
