The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to have a few major decisions to make this upcoming offseason that could have a major impact on the future of the franchise.

According to Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com, the Steelers have taken care of some of that business on Saturday night by inking Pro Bowl fullback Roosevelt Nix to a four-year deal.

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed the fullback on Saturday to a four-year deal through 2021. Nix was slated to be a restricted free agent after playing out two successive one-year contracts with the Steelers.

Since joining the team back in the 2015 season, Nix has been the starting fullback and an undervalued part of the offense as an asset as a blocker for star running back Le'Veon Bell. He has also proven to be a contributor on special teams over that span. He played in all 17 games this past season in the regular season and playoffs recording five carries for six yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Although his signing won't draw much public attention, it does retain stability on the offensive side of the ball heading into next season. It could also be another reason why Bell would return back to the Steelers on a multi-year deal. The front office's next priority will be to find a way to sign the 25-year-old to a new deal.

Bell is a significant part of the offense as the key cog, which would make his departure a huge loss for the Steelers. There has been a light deadline on Feb. 20 placed on working out a new contract due to that being the first day that the team can use the franchise tag. However, Bell has stated that he doesn't want the franchise tag to be placed on him and could threaten to hold our or retire.

Ultimately, this could be a sign of what may come in the next several days on the front with working out a new deal with the three-time Pro Bowler.
