Who wouldn't want Aaron Donald on their team? Donald is a five-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro who led the NFL with 20.5 sacks and 25 tackles for loss during last season, while helping the Los Angeles Rams win 13 regular season games.

So you may not have expected a sandwich shop to be the one to recruit arguably the best defensive player in the league, but you can easily understand why they'd try. Primanti Brothers, a chain of Pittsburgh eateries, tried to bring Donald home. The Rams' star defender is from Pittsburgh and played for the University of Pittsburgh.

Donald was in town earlier this offseason to witness former Pitt teammate James Conner—who took over running back for Le'Veon Bell—receive his Sportsman of the Year honor during Pittsburgh's Dapper Dan Dinner & Sports Auction. Donald spoke to Steelers.com about Conner, who earned his first Pro Bowl selection last season after amassing 1,470 total yards and 13 touchdowns in 13 regular season games.

“I was like a proud mother watching him [last season],” he said. “Trying to see every game and see what he did and see what he was accomplishing and all the success that he had. I was just proud. It was a great beginning for him. He's gonna have a lot more success. It’s just exciting to see him grow.”

Unfortunately for Steelers fans, while there may be some allure in retiring home for Donald, he signed a six-year, $135 million extension with Los Angeles last August. However, there is no harm in fantasizing.

Donald recalled spending time filming a commercial with Steelers legend Mean Joe Greene in an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Greene sang the praises of Donald.

“Watching this young man play, he is so efficient in using his area,” Greene said. “He can run by that guard with power and quickness and he doesn’t take up a whole lot of space either side, which is really, really something that’s kind of noteworthy—rarely could I do that.”
