The Pittsburgh Steelers shifted things back in the right direction on Sunday afternoon after grabbing a huge 1 7-10 win over the New England Patriots.

This was a significant step forward for the Steelers, especially for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who has had much difficulty finding consistent success against Tom Brady and the Patriots throughout his career. Following the game, Roethlisberger revealed what he had told Brady during their postgame embrace. (h/t Bryan Deardo of 247 Sports)

“I think I just told him that it doesn't matter how many times I watch him,” Roethlisberger said, “it's amazing and it's an honor to go against him.”

There is a strong amount of mutual respect from Roethlisberger toward Brady given what he has accomplished and continues to accomplish over his illustrious career. He has put together one of the most successful NFL careers that the league has continued to see. Although he has now barely begun to experience some decline in his play on the field just in 19th year in the league speaks volumes of the type of talent and ability he has shown for nearly the last two decades.

Roethlisberger has had the opportunity to play him on many occasions throughout his own career that has seen him wind up getting the short end of the stick on the majority of the time holding a 2-8 record against Brady prior to that. Beyond that, there is a strong level of admiration for what the 41-year-old has continued to prove even at this stage of his career.

It is something that many of the other quarterbacks in the league like Roethlisberger, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers have used as motivation to continue to perform at a high level even in the latter stage of their respective careers. This just speaks to the type of respect that Brady has around the league.
