Heading into Week 15 action against the New England Patriots, the Pittsburgh Steelers are in the midst of a late-season rut having dropped their last three straight games.

This has created a sense of doubt around the franchise's Super Bowl hopes this season as the team has struggled to play with another consistency over their current skid. Despite that, guard Ramon Foster has voiced that he believes that the losing streak is what the needed to help them get back on track ahead of the playoffs, according to Ed Bouchette of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

“In a sense that it makes guys realize that, hell, we have to go to work. You almost have to get in training camp mode in a sense that this is what we need to fix. We have to concentrate on what we need moving forward.

“And if we get that going, this is essentially the start of our playoffs. You get a chance to play some good, quality teams that know us or at least have a really good team able to beat us and we have to be better than them in this next stretch of games we have.”

The Steelers have stumbled over the last few weeks with some disappointing losses, but it is also a chance for them to right the ship over the last three weeks of the season. Much of their issues on the field have come in the way of their offensive production, especially late in games.

Each of their losses in during this skid have seen them have the opportunity to pull out wins, but miscues late in games have prevented them from getting over on top. The matchup against the Patriots could wind up working in their favor in two-fold as it may allow them to get back on track and finally get over the hump against the franchise that has had their number for the last several years.

Ultimately, this is a critical stretch of the regular season that will be quite telling of what may lie ahead of the Steelers in their quest for a deep playoff run toward the Super Bowl.
