The Pittsburgh Steelers have high hopes for linebacker Devin Bush in the 2019 NFL season. It appears linebacker Ryan Shazier has been helping him get up to speed with everything this offseason.

Although he is unable to play, Shazier has been a strong presence for the team during OTA's. Bush said during an appearance on 105.9 the X that he has taken him under his wing since his arrival:

“He’s just a big brother for me,” Bush said. “He’s there whenever I need him. We text, we talk, we talk about life, we talk about football. He’s like, ‘Anytime you need anything, anytime you need to talk about anything, I’m willing to help and I’m here.’ ”

It is encouraging to see Shazier making an impact despite not being able to participate. He is still recovering from a devastating injury he suffered late in the 2017 NFL season. Regardless, it is clear that he is looking to do whatever he can to help this defense improve.

Bush and his teammates can certainly learn a lot from a player of Shazier's caliber. He had established himself as one of the best inside linebackers in the league prior to his injury. The veteran is now looking to pass on his knowledge to the next generation of young backers in Pittsburgh.

There is plenty of hype that comes with being a top-10 pick in the draft. Bush will undoubtedly be expected to make an immediate impact next season. Fortunately, it appears the rookie will have no shortage of assistance getting acquainted with the Steelers' defensive scheme.
