Former Toledo Rockets wide receiver and return specialist Diontae Johnson has not been atop the highest level that is the NFL for long. However, the soon-to-be rookie pass-catcher is already turning heads in the “Steel City” as the Pittsburgh Steelers newcomer continues to impress at this year's installment of training camp.

However, it is not just some but many people seem to think that Johnson is currently in line to make a major impact at the NFL level.

“He has a technique issue that we are working on, to be honest, but he’s got great hands,” Steelers special teams coach Danny Smith previously said during minicamp, via TribLive.com.

Although he has yet to play a down of NFL football in a regulation game, Johnson is clearly a student of the game, which can take a young player a long way at this stage in their career.

“It’s how I’m drop-stepping and catch the ball a certain way,” Johnson said in regards to his prowess as a return specialist, via TribLive.com. “Keep my hands up high and not let them get wide. If I do that, the ball goes through my arms.”

In the absence of current Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown and current New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell, the Steelers can use all the help they can get on offense. Not only that, but both the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns remain primed to encounter successful seasons in 2019-20, which won't make things any easier for the Steelers going forward.
