Ryan Shazier didn't play in 2018. He's not going to play in 2019 either. In fact, there's a strong chance he never plays football again due to a spinal injury.

Despite that, Shazier's been adamant that he'll play again. He also hasn't seemed to lose faith in the Pittsburgh Steelers. According to Simon Chester of BehindTheSteelCurtain.com, Shazier proclaimed on the “Pat McAfee Show” that the Steelers will win the AFC North – and even the entire thing on the way to a Super Bowl.

“I think the Steelers are going to be great this year. Honestly, you know, we’re all very confident, we all believe in each other. To me, I just like how we all have the same mindset. It’s just really a lot of team chemistry, a lot of team camaraderie. And then the thing that’s funny is that I placed a bet with my family.

“I placed a bet with my family that we’ll win the division. A lot of my good friends like the hype with all the other teams, but me personally, I love what we got. I love the mindset that we have and I really feel that we’re going to win the championship, especially the division.”

Last season, the Steelers went 9-6-1, barely missing out on the playoffs. During the offseason, they lost Antonio Brown. However, they still have a solid core on offense led by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster.

Meanwhile, the defense, of course, missed Shazier's presence. They were tied for 16th in points allowed but did manage to be sixth in total yards allowed. There are some solid pieces on the defense, and rookie Devin Bush should help fill the gap left by Shazier.

The Steelers are definitely a solid team that should be able to contend for the AFC North title. Once you get into the playoffs then, anything can happen. Due to that, this isn't the craziest proclamation of all time.

However, it's important to note that the Steelers could be the worst team in the league and Shazier would probably still proclaim a Super Bowl is in sight. The linebacker has been loyal to the team, and they've absolutely returned the favor. It's good to see he still believes in his team.
