Not many people around the NFL expected the Pittsburgh Steelers to be playing this weekend, and one of them was starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Possibly already into his retirement brain and thinking of Cabo — or wherever Midwesterners go on vacation — Roethlisberger was brutally honest in an interview with ESPN earlier … and the comments did not sit well with Steelers rookie running back Najee Harris.

Roethlisberger said, in a nutshell, “The Steelers have no shot and don't deserve to still be playing.” While Roethlisberger maybe knows better than anyone when he has a Super Bowl team and when he does not, it is still up to him to rally his troops and not deflate them.

For insight on the Steelers' Wild Card playoff matchup against the Chiefs, listen below:

As they head to face the Kansas City Chiefs, he needs to be ready to fight until the death. Instead, Big Ben came off as defeated and congratulatory to the Chiefs with the following comments:

“As a group, you understand that we probably aren't supposed to be here. We're probably not a very good football team. Out of 14 teams I think are in, we're probably number 14. … We don't have a chance, so let's just go in and have some fun.”

The comments were sure to set off someone on the Steelers, and it was most likely going to be a veteran. Then, rookie running back Najee Harris stepped up and asked Roethlisberger just what in the heck he was saying by posting Ben's quotes with this NSFW comment on top of it:

Clearly, the rookie is not feeling the same way that Ben is feeling about the Steelers‘ chances and their team as a whole. Perhaps this is a changing of the guard on this offense, with Harris becoming the new leader in 2022 as the Steelers likely work in a first-round quarterback for the first time in almost two decades.
