The Pittsburgh Steelers have reported to training camp with players eager to get back on the field. One player who won't be on the field, for now, is T.J. Watt.

According to Mike Tomlin, Watt has been placed on Pittsburgh's PUP list to begin training camp. Although, the Steelers head coach doesn't believe that Watt will be absent from camp for too long.

“He may be on for a very short period of time,” Tomlin said, via the team’s website. “We are evaluating that as we speak. Again, he was able to complete the test, he just expressed some tightness there at the end, so we will do what is appropriate from that stand point.”

As Tomlin said, Watt experienced some tightness in his hamstring during a conditioning test. The Steelers are going to be precautious with their young edge rusher.

Last season, Watt finished with 13 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and 21 hits on the quarterback. As a result, Watt was named the 93rd best player in this year's NFL Top 100 list on NFL Network.

Along with the individual accolades, Watt helped lead the Steelers to have the most sacks in the NFL in 2018 with 52 of them. The expectations are even higher for Watt as he enters his third season in the league.

With training camps just getting underway, there is no need for Pittsburgh to rush Watt back to the field. For now, Watt will start training camp on the PUP list, but he should return sometime soon according to Tomlin.
