On Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers added to their defense with the signing of former Indianapolis Colts inside linebacker Jon Bostic to a two-year deal, according to a tweet from NFL Insider Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Bostic started the first 14 games of the 2017-18 season for Indianapolis before he was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. After not playing at all during the 2016-17 campaign, he still bounced back last season and had 97 total tackles, which was good enough for third-most on the Colts' roster.

Currents Colts general manager Chris Ballard acknowledged his admiration for Bostic's ability to bounce back from injuries plaguing his brief NFL career.

Via an article written by Andrew Walker of Colts.com:

“I probably haven’t talked enough about Jon Bostic and what he’s done, but Jon Bostic’s been solid,” Ballard said back in December before Bostic's knee injury. “He’s been a good player for us this year, especially after battling some injuries throughout his career.”

After being selected in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of the University of Florida by the Chicago Bears, Bostic has battled numerous injuries that have limited his on-field production. As of right now, Bostic and Vince Williams are the only two healthy inside linebackers on the Steelers' roster who have any starting experience in the NFL.

Following the tragic spine injury in December that put Steelers star inside linebacker Ryan Shazier's football future in doubt, Bostic would have some enormous shoes to fill while Shazier continues his road to recovery.
