Pittsburgh Steelers rookie wide receiver Diontae Johnson made an incredible reception to keep his team's hopes alive in the fourth quarter against the Seattle Seahawks.

The 23-year-old Diontae Johnson hauled in a pass from Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph—subbing in for an injured Ben Roethlisberger—while falling down, bobbling the ball between both hands before securing it for the 17-yard gain.

The Steelers selected the 5-foot-11 Johnson out of Toledo in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Paired with third-year Pro-Bowl wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster, Pittsburgh initially hoped the receiving tandem could benefit veteran Roethlisberger, the two-time Super Bowl champion at 37 years old. It's unclear how severe Roethlisberger's injury was, but it affected his throwing arm, justifying Big Ben leaving the Week 2 home-opening matchup with Seattle.

Smith-Schuster became the unspoken No. 1 receiving option for the Steelers—whoever is under center—after the departure of veteran All-Pro wideout Antonio Brown. Pittsburgh traded Brown in the offseason to the Oakland Raiders for third- and fifth-round picks before the Raiders released as disgruntled and fined Brown, who later signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots. Brown is under scrutiny again due to sexual assault allegations, but he made his debut for the reigning Super Bowl champs on Sunday, nevertheless.

Diontae Johnson and the Steelers aren't giving up despite everything which is happening to them early in the season.
