The Pittsburgh Steelers missed the playoffs in 2019 after missing starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for the majority of the season. He suffered an elbow injury early in the year and was unable to continue playing. In his place, both Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges tried to replace him but were mainly unsuccessful.

Speculation has been rising about whether or not Roethlisberger would be able to come back strong in 2020. The franchise has remained adamant that he will be just fine and now there is video proof of their faith in him.

On their official Twitter account, the Steelers posted a video of Roethlisberger throwing the football.

This is a huge step for Roethlisberger as he looks to regain his form. Elbow injuries are never easy to come back from for a quarterback, especially for a 37-year-old.

Back in 2018 with the Steelers, Roethlisberger completed 67 percent of his pass attempts for 5,129 yards, 34 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions. Those numbers show that he still has plenty of football left in him if he comes back at 100 percent from his elbow injury. Pittsburgh could very well find themselves back in playoff contention.

Mike Tomlin and company have some work to do this offseason. They need to add more talent in quite a few different areas. Being able to welcome Roethlisberger back would be a big step in the right direction.

All of that being said, expect to see more progress reports on Roethlisberger as the offseason progresses. Fans in Pittsburgh should be very excited about the latest development.
