After 22 years working under the WWE brand, Stephanie McMahon has just announced she's taking a step back from the organization. The news is a complete surprise and comes out of nowhere from the pro wrestling legend.

Stephanie McMahon took to Twitter to announce that she would be stepping away from her role in WWE in order to focus on her family. The internet was surprisingly supportive of the move but was understandably in shock by the announcement.

“As of tomorrow, I am taking a leave of absence from the majority of my responsibilities at WWE,” she said on Twitter. “WWE is a lifelong legacy for me and I look forward to returning to the company that I love after taking this time to focus on my family.”

It appears Stephanie McMahon is prepared to return to the organization after taking time off but the details are still murky as of this time. She has not competed in the ring for WWE in years and has mostly been CBO since 2013.

Triple H, Stephanie McMahon's husband, recently had a health scare that he claims almost cost him his life. He then retired from competing in the WWE and claimed that his wrestling career was officially over at the age of 45.

It will have to be seen what the future holds for Stephanie McMahon as she begins to take her to leave of absence from WWE. Vince McMahon will certainly not be thrilled to see his daughter take a step back from the organization.
