The past couple of months hasn't been good for veteran sportscaster Stephen A. Smith, who's a long-time New York Knicks fan. He had to witness the team's masterplan of building a super team right before his very eyes. And with the Knicks missing out on Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in free agency, he figured out that there's only one player that can turn the franchise's fortune around.

Himself.

Well, at least in NBA 2k.

If only Stephen A. could play in real life, he would've done everything in his power to help the Knicks, who turned from a team that was in prime position to land Durant and Irving, to a team that had to settle for Julius Randle, Bobby Portis, and Efrid Payton.

Smith also dreamt of the Knicks landing the first overall pick in the draft lottery, but even that didn't go in favor of his favorite team as they got the third overall pick, which they used to select collegiate standout RJ Barrett from Duke University.

Now, Knicks fans, including Smith himself would have to wait several years once again to see if the team will be able to build a championship or at least a playoff contending team.

It's not easy to move on from what could've been the biggest summer in Knicks' history, but the fans do not have a choice. If it makes things better, Randle averaged 21 points and nine rebounds last season. Maybe he's the star that the team's been waiting for.

No? Okay.
