The last five MVP awards have gone to players that are currently on the two teams that played in the 2016 NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
One for Kevin Durant, two for Stephen Curry, and two for LeBron James. Las Vegas oddsmakers have the trend continuing for the 2016-2017 season.
Curry and James are slated as heavy favorites to win the next MVP trophy, followed by Russell Westbrook, Durant and Anthony Davis.
Westbrook signed an extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday, and next season could be his breakout year as a leading MVP candidate.
