Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry might not have completely ruled out a potential return to his hometown of Charlotte after all.

While he’s said he envisions himself finishing his career as a member of the Warriors, he left the door ajar in an interview with Scott Fowler of the Charlotte Observer.

“It’s on my radar,” Curry said. “But it’s not really on my mind as much day-to-day… obviously I had a strong tie to Charlotte and would have loved to play there. I’m very comfortable in that city. It’s hard to say exactly what the situation will be this summer.”

The Warriors' sharpshooter owns a residence in the Charlotte area, where his parents also live; though his father, Dell, is not one to meddle in his children’s decisions, according to Fowler.

Curry later said in the same interview that Golden State would be his team of choice when he enters free-agency next summer.

“Obviously I love it here in the Bay Area,” he said. “It’s all I’ve known in the league. And if the situation is right going forward, this is a place I would love to play.”

The back-to-back MVP was drafted seventh overall by Golden State in the 2009 NBA Draft, his latest surge last season made him the first ever unanimous MVP of the league after leading the NBA in scoring, steals and three-pointers made.
