For all the good fortune that Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors had in the last regular season, reality caught up with them in the elimination rounds.

Of all players, Curry found himself being injured on a couple of occasions during the Western Conference playoffs. After hurting his ankle and MCL in the early round, the league’s back-to-back MVP was forced to sit out games as the Warriors wanted to avoid any aggravation.

He fought his way through to the NBA Finals where it was his heart that received the most damage that time, on the emotional side of things. Just recently, Curry revealed to the San Francisco Chronicle, and reported by Matt Moore for CBS Sports, some positive news on his health.

“Everything's pretty good. I didn't need surgery or anything, so it's just rest and getting back to work. Not playing in the Olympics is helpful….

“Yeah, I was worried (about surgery). You don't know exactly the extent of it, or if you made it worse by playing through the playoffs.”

Stephen Curry’s presence will certainly be missed by his Team USA brothers, but, at the same time, they also understand the need to look after his own health. With a healthy amount of firepower, they should easily make Curry’s absence a non-factor in their quest for a gold medal.
