Former NBA player and current ESPN analyst Stephen Jackson is prone to speaking outlandishly. But Jackson is also brutally honest, always speaking his mind and never holding back his thoughts. So keep that in mind when you hear this latest tale from Jackson, which considering the source, may actually be true.

Jackson was a guest on Uninterrupted's Open Run podcast on Friday and talked at length about the 2006-2007 Golden State Warriors team of which he was a key member. That Golden State team is forever remembered as the “We Believe” Warriors because they defeated the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the 2007 playoffs to become the first eighth seed in NBA history to ever beat a No. 1 seed in a seven-game series. The Warriors only needed six games to get past the Mavs, and after their Game 6 victory, there was naturally a lot of celebration happening in the locker room. Interestingly enough, actor Woody Harrelson was part of those festivities.

Harrelson is friends with then-Warriors coach Don Nelson, so he came into the locker room after the game to congratulate the players on their win. After the locker room celebrations had ended, according to Jackson, the two went back to his house and “got high and had a good time.”

“[Woody] was around the team, he used to hang out with coach,” Jackson said. “And I remember vividly, I became good friends with him because after we won the Game 6 against Dallas, me and him went to my house and smoked and got high and had a good time.”

Harrelson is a known proponent of the use of marijuana and since Jackson has said in the past that he used to smoke before games, this story does ring a bit true. But whether or not this story is actually true, just the mental image of Woody Harrelson and Stephen Jackson smoking together is just phenomenal to think about.
