One of the biggest problems that teams face when facing these juggernaut Warriors is that even when you whether the storm of their amazing attack, they will hit you with excellent defense. With defensive players in Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala in particular, it was easy for coach Steve Kerr to set up a great defense, especially considering his defense was still among the best in the league even last year when KD was not a Warrior.

This time around, the non-impact of Harrison Barnes on the offensive end was replaced with immense scoring by Durant, and Barnes' impact on the defensive end was replaced with even more impact on that end by Durant, who is longer and faster than the forward that is now with the Dallas Mavericks.

Kerr has, of course, recognized the impact his star has been making on the defensive end. After Game 2, when Durant had five blocks, Kerr was asked about the overall impact on that end by his 7-foot forward. Kerr was claiming that the defense played by Durant was the key of their victory.

“His defense was amazing,” said Kerr. “And we needed it. Especially with Draymond out. It's a small game and you got shooters everywhere and you have to be able protect the rim with LeBron coming downhill, with Love posting up and Draymond's on the bench. So that's a pretty scary proposition for us. I thought that Kev's defense was unreal, and it was probably the key to the whole game. Along with the perimeter defense of Klay and Andre, trying to do their best with Kyrie and LeBron, but K.D. was amazing.”

All in all, it has to be said that the whole Warriors team played almost perfectly on the defensive end, especially when defending the three-point shot, which is the biggest strength of these Cavaliers. It was a smart choice of Kerr to allow LeBron James to play one-on-one with his defender and not help off shooters, and that help off the shooters was what all teams did previously, thus opening up space for guys like Love, Kyrie and Kyle Korver, all of which can hit the three at a good rate.

What also helps with that is the length of this team, which can interrupt the passing lanes and make it impossible for excellent passers like LeBron and Kyrie to fully utilize that part of their game. Along with that, when they reach the rim, the length of players like Durant or Green is usually enough to maybe not always block them, but certainly change the shot. And that is the biggest defensive strength of these Warriors.
