One of the prominent questions heading into the 2017 NBA Finals surrounds the availability of Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, who has been away from the team since Game 3 of the postseason's first round due to discomfort stemming from his surgically-repaired back.

With Game 1 set for Thursday night, Kerr once again addressed the situation by stating that he still isn't feeling well, but did leave the door open to possibly being back on the sidelines at Oracle Arena for the contest.

”As of right now I would not coach Thursday night. It's still up in the air. Still waiting for ‘Ahhhhhh!”' Kerr said, reaching his hands to the sky as if to receive some miracle healing. ”It's coming, it's coming. … I think once we get to Game 1, that might be a good time to make a decision one way or the other.”

In his absence, Mike Brown has held down the job helping guide the Warriors to a perfect 12-0 mark in the playoffs sweeping through the Western Conference beating the likes of the Portland Trail Blazers, Utah Jazz, and San Antonio Spurs.

Although the Warriors are hoping that Kerr will make a return to the team, it's quite clear that he is still dealing with lingering health issues. In fact, he also stated on Monday that he has yet to fully recover from the migraines and subsequent pain that he has dealt with since his back surgery almost tw0 years ago.

With still a couple more days until Game 1, it remains a fluid situation but the odds are currently against Kerr being healthy enough to return in time for the start of the NBA Finals.
