It almost doesn't sound right but Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr sees some areas where Stephen Curry could improve.

Curry, the unanimous MVP selection from last season, had one of his toughest games of the season on Christmas Day struggling through a 4-for-11 shooting game against the Cavaliers in which he only finished with 15 points.

That's not a lot of scoring from Curry and he made just 2-of-7 threes but Kerr isn't concerned about that. It's the other stuff.

Via ESPN:

“I think he can be a little smarter, I think he can make better decisions, and that'll help against anybody,” Kerr said after his team had blown a 14-point, fourth-quarter lead to lose 109-108. “But I'm not worried about him missing shots; I'm more worried about just decision-making and making sure that we're where we need to be as a group.”

Kerr particularly noted some of the flashy plays Steph tried to pull off against the Cavs.

“A lot of [the turnovers] early was not even due to the pressure,” Kerr said in general of his team. “It was more just decision-making. Around-the-back passes in the paint, silly plays. We just have to make simple plays, and we talk about that all the time, but we've got to make it more of a habit.”

You really can't ask for much more from Curry shooting the ball. But he does at times have a tendency to turn the ball over a lot and the Warriors could certainly stand to have him improve in that department.

Curry has the ultimate confidence and honing that in during precious moments on the floor is always important, especially against the defending champs.
