Despite their recent loss to the lowly Charlotte Hornets, the Golden State Warriors have been red hot as of late. Perhaps what has been most impressive about their recent success is that they have managed to do it without superstar point guard Steph Curry.

Most teams would likely falter without their star player in the lineup. Then again the Warriors are not most teams. That said, head coach Steve Kerr has been pleased with his team's performance sans Curry, according to Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle

“In a weird way, this stretch (without Curry) has been good for us.” Said it has allowed the young guys and role players to shoulder heavier loads.”

One of the most underrated elements of Golden State's success is how deep their roster is. They proved once again why that is after helping the Warriors to a 10-2 record in Curry's absence. Needless to say, many of their bench players would likely be starters if they were on other teams.

Among the beneficiaries of a heavier workload has been point guard Shaun Livingston and shooting guard Patrick McCaw. While the veteran Livingston has long been regarded as one of the best bench players in the league, McCaw has done little to capitalize on Curry's absence outside of his 18-point performance against the Utah Jazz.
