The Golden State Warriors find themselves in an unfamiliar position.

Entering Game 5 at Oracle Arena, the Warriors are trailing the Oklahoma City Thunder 3-1. In other words, they're on the verge of being eliminated.

After a second straight blowout loss to the Thunder on the road, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr didn't fret over his squad needing three consecutive wins in order to advance to the NBA Finals:

”Well, it's a sense of reality staring us in the face. We're down 3-1,” Kerr said Wednesday. ”Momentum can shift quickly in the playoffs. We've seen that the last couple years. Let's take care of business at home, get some momentum back and we've got a chance.”

Following the team's 114-98 loss on Tuesday night, Kerr admitted that Golden State was very quiet on the plane ride back home: ”It was not festive. It was quiet.”

The Warriors trailed by double digits the majority of the night. They struggled drastically, as they committed 21 turnovers while converting on just 41 percent of their shots. Both of the team's best players, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, failed to make a positive impact in Game 4. Curry was just 6-of-20 for 19 points while Green had just six points on 1-of-7 from the field.

The 2015-16 Coach of the Year also refuted claims that Curry is struggling due to not being 100 percent healthy:

”I don't do that. If he were struggling with anything, I would know. Nobody has said anything about Steph being 70 percent to me. Our training staff, relatives, friends, sources with knowledge of our team's thinking, nobody has told me he's 70 percent.”

Only nine teams in NBA history have come back from a 3-1 series deficit. If Golden State is unable to accomplish the task, their 73-9 season will go down as one of the biggest disappointments in sports history.
