Steven Adams has gone from a widely unknown center for the Oklahoma City Thunder to one of the most well known players on the team. Credit for that goes to his interesting personality.

Adams is from New Zealand and does not shy away from showing it, but another big help has to be the hair that Adams has developed over the years. When Adams entered the league, he was as clean shaven as it gets; he had no beard and short hair.

Now, he is the opposite.

Adams calls himself and his fellow Thunder center, Enes Kanter, the “‘Stache Bros.”

According to Fred Katz of the Norman Transcript, Adams has a simple reason as to why he lets his hair grow so long:

“It's a budget thing.”

Adams went on to say that having to pay $60 for a haircut bummed him out so he realized he could save money by skipping out on them. Now that Adams and his hair have gone global, he has no choice but to keep rocking this look.

It should be interesting seeing how Adams will come into the Thunder next season; he has the opportunity to become one of the two faces of the franchise.

If Adams can keep up his great play, he should have no problem paying for haircuts in the future. Next summer, he will be out looking for a new contract.

Chances are that the Thunder end up going all-out cost-wise to keep Adams. He has become the type of player that the people of Oklahoma love. The real question about Adams is what has more potential: his hair game or his game on the court.
