Phoenix Suns superstar Chris Paul moved up to no. 4 on the NBA's all-time steals list. Now, he has his eyes on Michael Jordan's record.

Paul surpassed Gary Payton on the list, which definitely speaks volumes considering how The Glove was known for his defensive abilities. Being the traditional pass-first point guard, CP3 proved that he is more than just a floor general.

After Payton, though, Paul has a chance to surpass Jordan for no. 3 on the record. The Chicago Bulls legend had 2,514 career steals, while the Suns guard improved his numbers to 2,446 after Friday's game.

Chris Paul entered Friday's showdown with the Memphis Grizzlies needing three steals to surpass Gary Payton's 2,445 record, and that's exactly how many he got.

Unfortunately for the Suns, the Grizzlies were still  able to snap their winning streak despite the efforts on both ends from Paul. The Point God actually finished eight points, 11 assists and three steals with just two turnovers. He kept feeding Devin Booker who exploded for 41 points, but their production was not enough to slow down a red-hot Memphis squad who escaped with a 122-114 win.

It's unlikely for Paul to break Michael Jordan's steals record this season with just five games remaining. However, he definitely has a good chance in doing so should he return for another year in the NBA in 2022-23.
