The Phoenix Suns are rolling! A few days after they took down the top-seeded Golden State Warriors in dramatic fashion, the Suns went into Thursday night with a mission: destroy the Detroit Pistons. Oh, and also get the Suns' franchise record for most consecutive wins. No biggie.

Well, it certainly didn't come easy for the Suns, but they managed to get it done in the end. Chris Paul and co. survived a Cade Cunningham outburst in the second half and took down the Pistons. With that win, the Suns have grabbed their 18th consecutive win, setting a franchise record. (via Bleacher Report)

The Suns have took care of business this season, bouncing back from a 1 – 3 start to grab a 19 – 3 lead and control of the Western Conference. They've comfortably beat bad teams they're supposed to beat, and dismantled playoff teams like the Warriors, Nets, and Mavericks. The Suns seem determined to break the narrative that their Finals run last season was just a fluke.

They've been doing this thanks in large part to their defense and Devin Booker's brilliance. Even with Booker missing this game due to hamstring injuries, they're able to find a way to win because of their defense. Chris Paul's masterful quarterbacking of the Suns also helps greatly: in their win against the Pistons, he tallied a solid double-double of 12 points and 12 assists.

The streak might be in jeopardy next game, though. Their next opponent is the same Warriors team they beat last time. Stephen Curry will surely want to bounce back from an atrocious shooting night. For the Suns, though, a second win over the surging Warriors will be a huge statement to their doubters.
