The Phoenix Suns pulled off a tremendous comeback win on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans, 112-100. For his part, it was a truly historic evening for the point god himself, Chris Paul. CP3 just passed another Suns legend in Steve Nash for the No. 3 spot on the NBA's all-time assists list.

The Suns star amassed 18 assists on the evening to bring up his tally to 10,336 dimes throughout what has been an epic career:

After the game, Paul was asked to share his thoughts on his most recent milestone. The Suns guard appreciates how special this moment is and he expressed just how much it means to him:

“Man it's amazing,” Paul said shortly after the game. “My family's here. My dad, who put the ball in my hands when I first started. And playing against New Orleans where it all started for me. That city will always be my family. There's my brother [Pelicans head coach] Willie Green. It's an honor and a privilege, and I'm grateful.  I thank God that I still get a chance to play.”

Chris Paul actually jumped two spots this evening after overtaking both Mark Jackson (10,334) and Steve Nash (10,335) on the all-time leaderboard. The Suns star now sits at the third spot behind two of the greatest point guards to have ever held a basketball in John Stockton (15,806) and Jason Kidd (12,091).
