Chris Paul of the Phoenix Suns drilled a clutch jumper in Friday night’s game against the Denver Nuggets with 7.3 seconds left after successfully persuading his coach to issue a Coach’s Challenge on the defensive end.

After Paul hit the shot, he showed fans the congratulations that his son offered after the shot:

As you can see, Paul’s son says that Paul has “some clutch genes,” which, of course, means that he has those same clutch genes. Certainly, CP3 is no stranger to clutch moments throughout his career—with the most notable potentially being the game-winning floater against the San Antonio Spurs in 2015 when he was a member of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Paul was traded to the Suns from the Oklahoma City Thunder after the 35-year-old veteran recuperated his value after seemingly underwhelming in his final few seasons as a member of the Houston Rockets.

In fact, some fans were scoffing that Paul was “washed” after his Houston stint had been marred by injuries and a seeming lack of wiggle in the playoffs. However, all of those concerns were put to bed in OKC, as Paul spearheaded a three-guard attack that included himself, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Dennis Schröder—and was one of the best crunch-time lineups in the league last season.

So far, Paul is looking as if he’s picking up where he left off in OKC as the Suns are off to a 5-1 start for the first time since 2009-10. The Suns play next on Sunday at 8 p.m. EST against the Clippers.
