Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul apparently played through the Western Conference Finals with an injured shooting hand, shocking everyone and raising questions how he was able to pull it off while still impacting the team.

On Saturday as the Suns await their opponents from the East, Paul opened up on what exactly he did to lessen the discomfort and play at a high level like he did in Games 3 to 6.

It's rather simple actually. For Paul, it's all about managing his workload and proper resting.

“I managed it well, good,” the Suns veteran said, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

Chris Paul had partially torn ligaments in his right hand that bothered him throughout the West Finals series. In fact, he was already in pain when he got out of his COVID-19 quarantine and suit up in Game 3 where he put up 15 points and 12 assists against the Los Angeles Clippers.

After the said contest, Suns coach Monty Williams even said Paul's hand was “a little sore.”

Despite the injury, however, CP3 certainly did not look like he was affected in the games that followed. His Game 6 performance was particularly memorable, as he exploded for 41 points with zero turnover to lead the Suns to the NBA Finals–a first in his career.

For what it's worth, Paul is also thankful that the Suns were able to finish their conference finals quickly since he gets an extra rest to heal his injured hand.

“Each day that we've had off has been really good, and we all get a chance to rest up a little bit before we get it going again,” the Suns playmaker shared.
